Visiting the Boylston Chess Club

Parking Options

Finding parking near the club is easy. We hope you find the following suggestions and tips helpful. Please always follow the latest Boston City parking rules, such as street closures.

On Saturdays:

  • Garage: If you plan to spend most of the day at the club, your best option is to park at a nearby garage. Many garages nearby offer weekend discount - please check with the garage directly for the latest rates. Here are a few suggestions:
    • 125 Summer Street Garage: one block away from the club. At the time of publishing daily rate for weekends is $12; $10 if you use SpotHero to book in advance. Note that the entrance of the garage is on Lincoln Street (address: 28 Lincoln Street, Boston)
    • Post Office Square Garage: about 0.3 miles walking distance from the club. At the time of publishing daily rate for weekends is $9
  • Street Parking: There are many parking spots on streets near the club
    • Meters: there is a 2 hour limit before 8pm for most meters. They take quarters, credit cards, or you can pay via ParkBoston app
    • Free: metered spots are free after 8pm. Commercial vehicle parking spots may be available for free after businesses are closed (usually 7pm). Please follow signs.

On Sundays and major holidays:

  • Garage: See above for weekend discount rates. Some garages may offer same weekend rate on major holidays - please verify with individual garages.
  • Street Parking: Metered spots and spots usually reserved for commercial use are free on Sundays and Boston City holidays.

On weekday evenings:

  • Garage: Evening/night rates apply in many garages. Here are a couple:

Public Transportation

The club is conveniently located near several T stations (subway). As an alternative to driving to Boston, you can park at one of the suburban T stations with very low weekend parking charges, e.g., Alewife if you are from north of Boston, and ride the T to the city.
