Happy July 4th! Some of us will take the day off to celebrate, and some of us will head down to Philadelphia for the World Open.

We will therefore not have a formal event tonight.

However, if you're still looking for some blitz chess, we invite you to head to Harvard Square. There is a decades-long tradition of informal chess at the Square, where you can expect to find players of all strengths from beginner to master-level.

If you have one, bring a board and clock. If not, feel free to show up anyways.

There is no official schedule, but expect players to start showing up around 6:30pm. In good weather, the games are played in the courtyard outside the Smith Center off Mass. Ave. In bad weather, we usually head inside the Smith Center.

Although the Smith Center closes at 10:00pm, in good weather the action continues outside until the wee hours!

Although it's certainly not required, if you plan on attending feel free to register for this event. The point is to at least let everyone else know you'll be there. This helps generate a crowd!
